                                 Truth#9

It Is Not Love If You Can Only Accept a Perfect Person
Is there really a perfect person? I mean someone who has no flaws, weaknesses,
shortcomings or imperfections? But Job had this testimony.
The truth is that we were all born with several weaknesses
and are wired with lots of imperfections, yet many find
themselves in marriage without having worked on these.
Love makes an imperfect person to be perfect over time. If you only love what is perfect
about him or her, what will happen when you discover their imperfections? Love accepts
everyone regardless of their imperfections. It is not love if you only accept the good
things about your friend or spouse, love accepts a person entirely – the good, the bad
and ugly in them.
Don’t ever think you would have a perfect spouse. Everyone can act been perfect in their
outlook but when you start living with them, you will discover many things that would
make them look entirely different from who you use to know. Make room for their flaws
and imperfections so that when you discover it, they will still be the one you love, come
rain or shine.
Remember, while we were yet sinners (imperfect, sinful, disobedient, rebellious), God
commends His love towards us and Christ died for us.

Personal Test
• Do I love my partner only for the good things I know about them?
