Love Is Unconditional, Sacrificial and Selfless
When there is a reason why you love, a day will come when there will be no reason
to love.
Love is unconditional but the likes of feelings, lust and infatuation has conditions
attached to it. ‘’I love her because she is’’; ‘’I love him because he makes me feel’’. These
are reasons why some people love and when those reasons cease to exist, their supposed
love will die a natural death.
Mind you, love is not about you, it is not about what you want
or what you want your partner to be; it is about giving yourself
to whom you love. If your claim of love is all about you, you
are selfish and self-centred. Love is not about what I can get,
it is about what I can give.
And if it does not cost you to love, you will never be committed to love.
However, love can only stand the test of time when it is selfless, sacrificial and
unconditional but feelings lacked these.
Questions :
• Do I have conditions attached to why and who I love?
• Am I selfless or selfish in expressing love?
• Have I reasonably gone out of my way to express love?
