Choice of Partner 2
Much has been said in the part 1 of this article, let us therefore look at some basic factors to consider before accepting a proposal or before proposing?
1. God
Is he/she a born again christian? Are the things of God so paramount in his/her heart? Is there fear and love of God in his/her heart? If he/she does not love God, such person cannot love you because God is love.
Sisters, it is the fear of God that keeps a mate faithful. Beauty will not! Sex will not! Beauty or sex cannot guarantee faithfulness. Your beauty does not make another woman ugly neither do your so called bed styles makes another woman 'styleness'.
Same goes to the men, your appearance, accent and so on may get her attention; but only God in you will get her heart for you! (As long as you're and she is His child.) Your 'niceup' won't make another man 'nicedown'.
God is the real deal believe it or not!
2. Religion Compatibility
The Bible warns against being unequally yoked in 2 Corinthians 6:14: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”.
That verse simply means, “Don't become partners with those who reject God. Does Christ go strolling with the Devil?".
Some Christians may find themselves saying, “But this person will change.” Maybe so. God has the power to change someone, and we should never give up on praying for those we care about.
But the verse in 2 Corinthians did not say, “Do not be unequally yoked unless you think the person will change.” It says, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers”!
It is not your work to change anybody, it is the work of the Holy spirit. Many made this mistake and are now regretting it, you don't have the power to change anybody! Never!
Likewise, seeing him/her in church does not also mean he/she is a born again Christian; like a pastor said 'some born again needs to born again again'. That's why you need serious prayer and be in a right connection with God.
It's my prayer that God start speaking to you as long as you're willing and ready to be obedient.
Confession: Order my steps oh Lord
Prayer: Father help me to acknowledge you first and lead me to my right partner in Jesus.
